What is AutoCAD?

AutoCAD, Autocad 2017, What is Autocad, Autodesk, 2D CAD, CAD, AutoCAD is a Computer Aided Drafting application created by Autodesk. AutoCAD dominates the 2D CAD and drafting environment. AutoCAD was invented by an American Ivan Sutherland in 1961. He created CAD to substitute the conventional drafting board and other methods drafters used, such as the ink pen, plastic-type stencil, and electric eraser. First CAD software happened to run on big, costly computers. Today, designers, architects, and engineers can run CAD software on personal computers.

Engineers of all types can use AutoCAD to create 2 and 3 dimensional drawings, such as those for automobile and airplane parts, structure plans, maps, and more. While it may be quicker for an engineer to produce a preliminary drawing by hand, it is much more effective to change and deliver drawings by computer.

AutoCAD was a specific brand of CAD software for mechanical drawings, created by Autodesk in 1982. It was the first industrial CAD application to run on the PC/Windows system.

Autodesk have created many versions of AutoCAD for the various types of indutries such as AutoCAD, Mechanical AutoCAD, Electrical AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, 3D AutoCAD 3D Map, AutoCAD Architecture, REVIT,  and many more...

AutoCAD is one of the first Computer Aided Design applications to be made accessible on personal computers. It is designed to help individuals design structures, items, or public places, without having to sketch up plans by hand. It was launched in 1982 by Autodesk, Inc., and provided a personal alternative to software that was prior to be released only for larger work stations. While first CAD programs needed significant sums of computing power, this software structured its operating and enhanced it for the IBM PC, enabling people to work from home or on their own work pc's.

Architects and engineers use AutoCAD applications to draw up designs for products and buildings.

In the 1980s, AutoCAD operated mainly by using simple lines and circles, and text overlays, to set up tailor made objects. Starting in the 1990s, the program began using more effective custom object functions, built with an Sophisticated Programming Interface using C++. Beginning in 2007, it has had much more innovative 3D tools that enable for higher modeling and discovery, with high-quality, fast-moving object rendering.

With a robust programming set that has permitted for excellent extensibility for the application, and there are a number of more specific applications, such as AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and AutoCAD Architecture.

Autocad uses a DWG file format that has become a normal for all CAD work. Despite the fact that a number of other CAD applications exist at this stage, AutoCAD continues to be the sector leader and sets a number of specifications in the CAD world.

Moreover, Autodesk delivers many other design applications, all created to help manufacturers or architects work on certain projects. Their application is centered on all elements of rendering, equally in 2D and 3D, and they continually seek to aim higher on what their systems can accomplish. Autodesk software involves sector standards for animation and solution design.

It is significant to acknowledge, on the other hand, that AutoCAD is a professional-level application package.
